About us

Welcome to our cozy corner of the online forest!

Green Oak Books and Collectibles

We are Ron and Daria, avid collectors, readers, creators, dreamers, book-dragons, and now booksellers. To say we are passionate about books and collectibles is a bit of an understatement. To say we are obsessed would make it weird, so we'll stick with passionate.

After spending over four decades, and many more dollars at book stores; and building our collection, we decided to start up our own online treasure trove of wonders!

Ours is an online shop with a large selection of new, used, rare, and popular books; as well as posters, comics, CDs, records, games, playing cards, tarot and oracle cards, action figures, and other fine collectibles.

Our rare and collectible books are sold via AbeBooks; and shipped with love from Airdrie, Alberta, Canada via Canada Post. Soon to come is our e-commerce store, where we will sell our collectibles, posters, action figures, comics, notebooks, planners, and new books; hosted right here on HostPapa, our all-Canadian web host.

While we specialize in fiction, we have an excellent collection of non-fiction books of all genres that are sure to delight. Come in, have a look through our catalogues, and find that perfect something!

meet your Proprietors

Ron and Daria

Ron has been an avid reader, collector, creator, and rare book aficionado for a long time. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies from the University of Calgary, and a Diploma in Library Information Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).

Ron is the expert on all things books and collectibles, and is the curator of our collection. When he's not uploading book information into the database, he is conducting amazing research on the Shakespeare Authorship Question, and serving as the official cat couch to our little furry freeloaders (AKA: The Bookshop Cats).

Daria has also been an avid reader, collector, creator, and singer for a very long time. She holds an Extension Certificate in Nonprofit Management; and the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.

Daria handles accounting, shipping, social media marketing, and website design.

When she's not running packages to the post office, Daria is the Executive Director of a charity, and the Chair of the Board of Directors at Volunteer Airdrie - essentially managing people and programs as a volunteer, because she's a glutton for punishment.
